Baseball people are weird. Get some baseball geeks together and you may as well be listening to theoretical physicists talking about complex mathematical formulas.

There’s a statistic for everything that you can possibly imagine, and get this — some people still bring their own little stat cards to the game and fill them out while they’re watching. I honestly don’t care about the details of how a pitcher’s ERA is calculated, or why on-base percentage matters, which is why I appreciate a good no-hitter.

The no-hitter is one of the few things in Major League Baseball that just makes sense. It’s exactly what it sounds like: When a pitcher makes it through the whole game without allowing a single hit from a batter. And yes, I know there are technicalities to that too, but we’re close enough.

It’s also one of the rarest accomplishments in all of professional sports. Which legendary pitcher holds the record for the most no-hitters in MLB history?
